TBS Trend Alert: Succulents

Wedding flowers have taken a big turn by mixing succulents into the big day, and we are loving it!

Whether you are using succulents in your bouquets and boutonnieres, your centerpieces and décor, or even as place cards and favors, succulents have shown to be cute in every way.

There is so much variety when it comes to succulents and they are available year round. Another great thing about succulents is that they’re eco-friendly; after the wedding, they can be replanted so you’ll be able to keep a piece of your special day in your home!

Are you planning to incorporate succulents into your wedding day?

San Valentino Felice 2014

Happy Valentine's Day from The Bridal Solution and Lindsey Pantaleo Photography!

We are so thrilled to bring you our latest photo shoot, designed with natural elements and inspired by love!  Valentine's Day doesn't have to be just about red roses and chocolate, embrace the elements and add some special touches!  We're loving the simple details used in this shoot, like the tiered "cheese" cake. We tied all the details together with fresh fruit like Figs, Deep Cherries, Grapes and Olives.  Seeded Eucalyptus adorned the table surrounded by mirrored stars.

And let's not forget about the dress ... perfect for this occasion and found at Rent the Runway .. what a total steal, and SO easy to pull off!

A special thank you to Kaitlyn for being a beautiful and sweet model, Chef Riley at the Jefferson City, Missouri HyVee for helping us with our "Cheese" Cake, as well as, River City Florist for providing the flowers.

2014 Wedding Trends via The Bridal Solution

So You're Engaged ... Congratulations!  What a FUN and Exciting time!
As you probably know, wedding trends come and go and when you're planning your wedding almost a year out, you should know what upcoming trends will be around when you wedding date actually arrives!

Stay current and check out what we beileve will be the newst, upcoming trends for your wedding!
Isn't nice to know you have Insider Secrets and can plan a wedding your guests will LOVE and be talking about for years to come?!

2014 Weddings Bridal Trends
 By: Natalie Imhoff, CWP
Owner & Event Stylist of The Bridal Solution, llc.

While rustic chic seemed to be the bridal trend of 2013, the New Year marks a return to more elegant affairs. That means good-bye to DIY and a return to sophisticated décor.
Brides are beginning to think outside of the box, channeling their inner Martha Stewart when it comes to proper etiquette and traditions. And we couldn’t be more thrilled. A conversation starter, trends should fuel your creativity in an effort to find what works or you. The most memorable weddings are always a reflection of the bride and groom, so incorporate the trends that match your style and personality.  Even if it’s a more formal event your guests should always feel comfortable and natural at your wedding.
Here’s what we predict 2014 will bring for brides-to-be around the country and right here in Mid Missouri. Happy Planning.

1.  Tradition takes Center Stage – Weddings aren’t going back in time, but they are moving from casual to classic. Think “Weddings meet “Downton Abbey,” the popular PBS period drama set in the early to mid 1900’s where dinner means black tie attire for the men and women.

2.  Intimate Weddings – Instead of inviting everyone they know to their weddings, brides are opting for smaller, more intimate celebrations. Wedding Brunches, which have been a hit on the East and West Coast, will also hit the Mid-West this year. These daytime events usually begin around 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. and last only a few hours. Sometimes the wedding occurs before the brunch, occasionally after. This event allows the couple to spend time that evening with their friends and out-of-town guests for a night on the town.

3.  Catering – A Culinary Experience – Buffets will take a back seat this coming year to plated, portion-controlled styled faire.  It’s all about appealing to “foodies,” where the food must taste as good as it looks. Food stations such as a sushi or mac-n-cheese bar will be a huge hit and brides will include wine pairings to compliment the cuisine.

4.  Hashtag “ #Weddings” – It’s no coincidence that weddings will be more in tune to social media this year.  In fact, it’s already happening.  Brides are “branding” their weddings, incorporating hashtags and short videos on their big day allowing their guests to both follow and be a part of the action throughout the evening.

5.  Doughnuts are the New Cupcake – Cupcakes will still be around for sure, but brides are beginning to mix it up with custom made wedding doughnuts, complete with monograms, colors and flavors matching the wedding cake.  A Doughnut Bar with flavored icing, sprinkles and jelly allows guests to have fun creating their own concotion.  Some brides hire a company to make the doughnuts on site in front of their guests. are even having the doughnuts made on site in front of their guests.  This is a fun twist that your guests will be talking about for days to come!  The Bridal Solution incorporates Doughnuts and other items within their “Signature Bar” selections.

6.  Dueling Pianos – Make a splash by incorporating Dueling Pianos, the next best thing for bridal entertainment. Your guests will be sure to dance the night away to music that’s similar to using a DJ or live band.  Bring out lounge furniture, add some lighting and make your guests feel they just entered a club for a night out on the town.

New Year's Eve Tablescape via The Bridal Solution :: Hello 2014

Last year, in 2012, we had a record number of visitors to our blog after our debut of our New Year's Eve Tablescape, Bridal Edition, found HERE.  And honestly, we're still swooning over how good the table and bride looked in this photoshoot ... seriously, it's some awesome goodness!

At the request of some of our loyal readers, we've been at it again!  Although it's not a bridal edition, this gold, bubbly inspired tablescape still takes our breath away!  We're also super excited that because this is in our home, we'll be able to enjoy the fruits of the labor by hosting a progressive dinner that evening with a few our our friends. We're dessert!!

Here's to a New Year, New Goals and More Inspiration in 2014!

TBS Inspiration: Popping the Question ... to your Bridesmaids!

Popping the Question to your Bridesmaids

The groom isn’t the only one worried about popping the question, the bride also has to pop a question, and usually to more than one person! Asking your girl friends to be in your wedding as your bridesmaids is a very special part of the wedding process and your friendship! When asking your friends to be apart of your big day, you want to ask them in a special way, something unique to your friendship. You can ask in many different ways. A pretty, feminine card is always a classic way to ask your friends. Another super cute way is to decorate a box with the words “be my maid?” painted on the lid. You can fill this box with a note telling your friend how much she means to you and even with pictures from your friendship over the years! Jewelry is another common way to ask your friends to join you on your wedding day. This piece of jewelry can also double as the jewelry they will wear on the day of the ceremony. Lastly you can “propose” to your girl friends using a ring pop! These are just a few clever ways to ask your favorite girls to be a part of your big day, but of course the possibilities are endless!

How will you "pop" the question?

TBS Inspiration: Watercolor Invitations

Have you noticed the latest trend in wedding stationary yet?
If not, just take a look around ... watercolors are booming these days, with all different pops of colors.

Subdued pinks and blushes to pops of oranges and blue hues. These pieces can look classy and sophisticated or then can have an organic look.
This trend isn't stopping with the invitation either, Brides are using these unique designed and incorporating them into wedding signage like programs, menus and escort cards!

The great thing about this trend is it's a great way to get in touch with your crafty side, or you can pre-order them online or with a local graphic designer!

Are you incorporating watercolor in your wedding this year?
