Wedding Tip: Importance of Insurance
With all the devastating news of tornado's and natural disasters in my home state, I started to think about things from a wedding stand point. For instance, what if your wedding came on a day that a tornado rips through the area, or flash flooding suddenly took over your ceremony location? What if your bridal salon where you dress is being held goes up in flames, or a tornado took out the entire store?
This post is not to worry you as a bride, but it's to prepare you. The one thing as wedding coordinators we can no control is the weather. Sure we always have back up plans, but if something should happen, like Joplin, Missouri, what is a bride to do?
I am sure you have heard or seen the brochures about wedding insurance. I am also sure you thought to yourself "just another expense for the wedding." Some venues require you to purchase insurance, but most do now. And if you are a bride who has not considered wedding insurance, I am here to tell you ... DO IT!
You can not foresee the future, and it just takes that one little thing to go wrong, and to prevent you from having the wedding of your dreams. I use WedSafe most of the time. It's a great resource for brides and planners. WedSafe covers about everything from unpredictable illness, weather, no show vendors, damage to gifts and to the bride's dress. They also have a liability insurance you can purchase, which I love for my clients to purchase if they are hosting an event at their home.
You can visit WedSafe here, and get quotes right on their website. You will be surprised how inexpensive it really is, especially for all the coverage you get in return. Do yourself a favor, and purchase wedding insurance, you just never know!
Happy Planning!

Prayers to Joplin
As many of you have heard by now, Joplin, Missouri was hit by a devastating tornado last night, killing more than 90 and injuring 1,150 people. The pictures are absolutely devastating, and reports are saying that the town has been cut in half.
Last night I laid in my bed praying for the safety of friends and family, and those who were affected. The videos coming out today of last night are incredibly emotional, and it's hard to believe it happened so close to home. For me, the most devastating news was that the tornado damaged the hospital, and a nurse has reported that she witnessed a man being ripping from his room through the window. Can you even imagine?
I have included a few pictures and videos below. If you scroll all the way down, there is information on how you and all of us can help. Thank you for your prayers.
Joplin Safe & Wellness Check & Diaster information:
- Please vist www.redcross.org
- Text Joplin to 864833 to donate $10.00
- Call 1-800-427-4626 for disaster information

TBS Engagement Shoot: Molly & Adam
It's wedding season! Now call my bias, but I have a soft spot for this soon-to-be bride. Meet Molly & Adam. I really do have the honor of providing day-of-coordination, and we couldn't be more excited to be apart of the festivities!
Here's a little background: I moved to Missouri in 1990, and Molly was the first person I met. Literally. Her house was right across the street from mine, and as I am pulling into the driveway of our new home ... Molly was outside her house, and it was an instant connection. Providing this service to a childhood friend is just surreal to me. Molly is one of the sweetest, kindest people you will meet and I treasure all of our memories.
And I can't leave this post without a shout out to not only another TBS Bride, but another childhood friend, and from the neighborhood as well, Mrs. Jennifer Seris. You may know her by her business name, Jennifer Seris Photography. You can find her wedding post here. She has started her own photography business, and boy do her pictures look amazing. Check out a few of Molly & Adam's Engagement Sesh outside of Nashville ... too cute for words!

TBS Inspiration: Newlymaid
Raise your hands if you have a closet full bridesmaid dresses? Umm ... I DO, I DO!! There is a company called Newlymaid, and the concept is actually pretty amazing.
Here is how it works ... You send them your old bridesmaid dress, they will recycle your dress or donate your old dress. You then have the option of choosing a new little black dress to purchase. I am interested if any of you have used this service, and what you all think about this?
I would love it if a company could take your old bridesmaid dress and turn that exact dress into another style of dress.
Happy Planning!
